My first PFMeet talk: sharing the freelance toolkit

I’ve been running Portsmouth Freelancers Meet monthly networking group since 2010, and last week to shake things up (alongside the new brand launch) I also introduced the new format for my monthly meetup. We’re now having a talk every month – and so myself and friend Charlotte Simonsen were the first to deliver a talk.

We shared the tools and habits that keep our freelance businesses running smoothly, and it felt like a full-circle moment: standing in front of the very community that’s helped me so much over the years and sharing some of my tips.

It sparked some really good discussions afterwards with attendees and was a reminder that even after all these years, there’s still stuff we could, and should, be sharing in order to make freelancing a less lonely experience. What may seem obvious to you, could be a real turning point for someone else who had never considered that point of view, or way of working before.

You can read the blog post here – ‘Tools & Tips to Make Freelancing Easier‘, or come along to the next talk on 9th October (it’s in the works!).
