My Role.
Web Designer & Developer.
I was responsible for designing and developing the website for the Global Plastics Policy Centre at the University of Portsmouth. This included UX and interface design, a custom WordPress build, and front-end development using accessible, responsive code. I also worked on interactive elements powered by Google APIs and designed accompanying PDF resources.
What I did.
About this project.
This was an amazing project to work on. Not just because the overall aim of this research project is truly ground breaking, but because they were such an amazing team to work with. There were strict branding guidelines to stick to with regards to the University, which meant the branding was taken care of.
My job was to design and develop a way of presenting these policy reviews in an easy to digest way. The biggest challenge is that academic subjects can make for a quite a text heavy website, which can be difficult to digest, however I think we found the right balance in the way we arrived at the final presentation of information.
As well as the website I was brought on board to design the final report: a 110 page PDF.
