Soton Women in Web – a new venture

I’m someone who loves to meet up for a chat with new people in the tech industry, and recently found myself introduced to UX Designer – Tash. We shared a couple of beers and before long we had an idea.

Tash expressed her enthusiasm for setting up a networking group in Southampton aimed at supporting and encouraging women in the web industry and making new friends. I have been running networking events (pfmeet) since 2010 so I was more than excited to get involved and offer my support.

Within a couple of weeks we had chatted some more and made a pact at Shareup Soton (an excellent event in the city) to set up our first meet up. True to our word, we announced this week the first ever ‘Soton Women in Web‘ which will take place on Thursday 22nd February at Brewdog in Southampton.
